"Book a break provided the ultimate reading retreat experience. I loved how there were plenty of activities, discussions, time to mingle, as well as opportunities for reading and relaxation in the comfort of your room. Every detail was impeccable from themed drinks, to decorations, tablescapes with conversation starters, and the cutest swag bags. There was even the MOST nostalgic send off with a true 90s style book fair! Can’t wait to book my next retreat with book a break!"
"Book A Break was the most fun I've had while reading! It's a vacation and group reading retreat all in one. The hosts, Jenna and Kristen, were absolutely phenomenal and some of the sweetest women I've ever worked with! Everything was taken care of from the moment I arrived until departure. They chose the perfect location for the retreat; it had plenty of cozy reading nooks and the food was delicious. I couldn't get enough of the planned, themed activities; it was super fun and really showed how passionate the hosts are! Not to mention, they had themed goodies upon arrival and a nostalgic send off surprise. The entire weekend was perfect and unforgettable! I would attend another Book A Break retreat in a heartbeat! "
"My reading retreat weekend with Book a Break was quite simply – amazing! From the location and food to the crafts and conversation it was the perfect gift to me. Jenna and Kristen are ideal hosts making sure that everyone was free to fill their time with fun activities, read in one of the many lovely and cozy nooks in the inn, or just hang out in our gorgeous rooms. I attended solo and didn’t know anyone when I arrived, but I felt like I left with several new friends. There were lively discussions over meals, post-dinner games with delicious cocktails, and a general sense of comfort and happiness among other women with a shared joy of reading and talking about books. I can’t stop telling everyone about how wonderful this weekend was and how I can’t wait to check out another Book a Break retreat. "
"We attended our first reading retreat with book a break and couldn’t be happier with the experience! The book a break team curated the perfect weekend getaway for reading, relaxing, crafting, and making new friends!"
If I wasn't a fantasy reader before I am definitely hooked now after reading this series that I could not put down as soon as I started. Thanks to @bookabreak for planning an amazing weekend of great food, activities and discussions at the charming inn at stockbridge. From my lodging in a very cozy fireplaced room where I could read to my hearts content to having crafts and activities that brought out all our inner artistic abilities we could not ask for a better weekend. I would definitely recommend this retreat again and I cannot wait to attend the next one. Now back to my dreaming of castles dragons leather and scribes.
I spent the last year and a half being a caregiver for my boyfriend with ALS. He passed away on April 19, and once I got my head straight, I realized that I really needed to do something for myself. I'd never heard of Book a Break, but an ad appeared on my Facebook page one afternoon. I honestly thought it was fake because it seemed too perfect. I almost didn't book it because it was a romance theme, and that's the one genre I don't read. But I stepped out of my comfort zone and am so glad I did!! Jenna and Kristen thought of everything to make this an absolutely incredible weekend. From the time we walked in until the time we left, we were spoiled! From welcome goodies to crafts to drinks and snacks and everything in between, they had us covered. The Inn at Round Barn was gorgeous, and the food was some of the best I've ever had. One thing that was truly special to me was when Jenna handed me my welcome bag, she took one of the books out and, knowing my situation, told me that she thought it would be a good one for me to read. She nailed it! It was about a woman grieving the loss of someone close to her and not only did I relate, but it made me feel better about my situation. It's amazing how a love of books can bring a group of strangers together so quickly - the conversations never stopped. I can't wait to attend another!
