Don’t forget- This is your retreat! We have plenty of activities if you want them. But if you want to read in a quiet spot around the inn or your room you absolutely can.
ADDITIONALLY, MOST OF OUR CRAFTS CAN BE DONE IN A HALF HOUR OR LESS, SO YOU CAN POP IN, PLAY A BIT AND GET BACK TO READING IF YOU CHOOSE.
It isn’t on the agenda
But take a look at all the extras you could do while on your weekend!
As you make your way into Waitsfield, we hope you’ll have a chance to explore some of the beautiful surrounding towns and enjoy the scenic views along the way.
For lunch, we recommend stopping in Montpelier—there are plenty of great options to choose from. While you’re there, you might also enjoy visiting one of the local bookstores, such as The Book Garden or Bear Pond Books.
If you’d prefer something closer to the inn, Tempest Book Store in Waitsfield is a lovely option. Waitsfield also has a few charming souvenir shops worth checking out! We’ve also heard wonderful things about the Von Trapp Farm Store—it’s definitely worth a visit, though keep in mind they’re closed on Mondays, so consider stopping in on your way into town.
For a scenic walk and some great photo opportunities after lunch, Lareau Park in Waitsfield is a peaceful spot. And of course, no trip to Vermont is complete without a photo on a covered bridge—The Historic Waitsfield Covered Bridge is one of our personal favorites!
Safe travels, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
